I was curious to know what projects are in “my backyard” – regarding urban planning – sustainable and re-development locally in Richmond Virginia.

I live in Henrico County which is on the west side of the city. I also looked at Henrico’s Planning department website.

I read about re-zoning meetings and how anyone from the public can attend. Developer’s present what and why they want a peice of porperty re-zoned to build a project. For example if a piece of land is zoned currently as residential but an Owner of the property wants to build something that is commercial – or vice versa.
Henrico also has a “2045 Comprehensive Plan” posted on their planning department on their website which contains some of their long term planning for the county.
I am going to dig deeper on their sites to find out about development / re-development in my area.
